Resource Library
A growing collection of information, resources, and musings to support kink knowledge — the neuroscience, the craft, and the care behind intentional practice. Some of it I’ve written; some of it points you toward people and tools I trust.
Information
Essays, explainers, and field notes — the thinking behind the practice. New pieces are added regularly.
- Your Nervous System Is Already in the Scene — why arousal, fear, and trust are all nervous-system events, and what that means for how you play.
- Consent Is a Practice, Not a Checkbox — moving from a one-time yes/no to ongoing, embodied negotiation.
- Aftercare Is Neurobiology — what actually happens in the body after intensity, and how to land well.
Consent & Safety
Intentional kink requires ongoing consent literacy — not just an initial “yes,” but a living, evolving understanding of how you and your partners communicate, hold limits, and stay safe. These resources are freely available.
- What consent means here (FRIES) — consent that is Freely given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, and Specific. This is the minimum standard for all events and coaching engagements.
- Risk-aware kink practice (RACK) — acknowledging that risk exists, naming it explicitly, and making informed decisions together rather than pretending danger can be eliminated entirely.
- Safewords & signals — a standardized safeword protocol across all events and in-person sessions; new participants receive a safety briefing before any play space or demonstration.
- Aftercare & integration — the hours and days following an intense experience are treated as part of the session; every coaching program includes explicit aftercare design.
Our Code of Conduct governs all Shadow Play Labs events, workshops, and coaching engagements — behavioral expectations, reporting procedures, and accountability.
Contracts
Starting-point templates for negotiating and documenting dynamics. These are tools for clarity and consent — not legal documents. Adapt everything to the people involved.
- Scene Negotiation Worksheet — activities, roles, safewords, and boundaries for a single scene.
- Limits & Interests Inventory — a yes / no / maybe checklist to map desires and hard limits.
- D/s Relationship Agreement — a template for authority-exchange dynamics, protocols, and check-in cadence.
- Check-in & Aftercare Plan — how you’ll monitor and land safely: before, during, and after.

Tools for Self-Directed Practice
A growing library of downloadable curriculum and guides — designed for use independently or alongside coaching.
- Negotiation templates — frameworks for scene negotiation, limit mapping, and dynamic design, built around how people actually communicate under pressure.
- Consent & safety guides — practical consent literacy grounded in current research, including how to recognize and respond to consent violations in real time.
- Somatic practice guides — self-directed exercises for nervous-system regulation, grounding after intense experiences, and building somatic awareness.
- Online courses — structured multi-module courses on core topics, as one-time purchases or a subscriber library (in development).
