Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct governs all Shadow Play Labs coaching engagements, workshops, classes, and community events. Participation requires agreement to this Code. Our aim is simple: a community where the work and the joy of it can coexist safely.
Core principles
- Consent is a practice, not a checkbox. We operate on the FRIES standard — consent that is Freely given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, and Specific.
- Risk-aware, not risk-denying. We use a RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) framework: name the risk, make informed decisions together.
- Respect for people and limits. Honor stated boundaries, safewords, pronouns, names, and privacy — every time.
Expected behavior
- Negotiate scenes and interactions clearly and honor what was agreed.
- Observe all safewords and stop signals immediately.
- Respect confidentiality — what you see or learn about others stays private.
- Ask before touching, photographing, or interacting with anyone or their belongings.
- Arrive sober enough to consent; follow all space rules and staff instructions.
Unacceptable behavior
- Any non-consensual contact, boundary violation, or disregard of a safeword.
- Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind.
- Sharing others’ identities, images, or information without explicit permission.
- Coercion, pressure, or exploitation of power imbalances.
Safety briefings
New participants receive a safety briefing before any play space or workshop involving physical demonstration, including the standardized safeword protocol in effect for the event.
Reporting & accountability
If you experience or witness a violation, contact an event facilitator immediately, or reach us afterward through the Contact page. Reports are handled with discretion. Shadow Play Labs may remove participants, revoke access, or take further action to protect the community. Accountability processes prioritize the safety and agency of the person harmed.
Agreement
Participants receive the full Code of Conduct at registration and must agree to it before entry. This is what makes the work safe — for everyone inside it.
